inspire envision breathe

see, i have this dream

that the world will stop spinning

out of control, we hang onto the tree trunks so we don’t fall

off the edge into oblivion

if only we let our feet settle on the roots and dive into the ground

see, i have this dream

that if the world stopped spinning

out of control, we wouldn’t have to hold on so tight

we could let our toes wiggle and feel the breeze tickle our souls

see, in this dream

we take a break as the world spins

we wake with the sun, give thanks

walk along the earth and take notice of the seasons

how the wind bends the grasses, the branches

we just take a moment to breathe

let breath take over for a moment

see this dream

unfold before us as we spin on this earth

beneath stars that beckon us to dream

once again, and to see ourselves in a world

giving way, peeling away our skins

the old skins lined with hurt

the old skins tattooed with shame

the old skins wrinkled with abuse

the old skins wither away in the sun decaying becoming nothing

revealing our new selves

this dream this dream i see

shakes free from the spinning earth

unravels to catch or waiting to catch

another sky woman

who will dance for us on the back of a turtle

the new earth will reveal itself

sky woman will see us with our new skins

knowing it’s time to restart the spinning

of this earth

this dream i hold

as i spin along the horizon of the earth

as dusk welcomes the night sky

dancing and flooding the world with ether

a myriad of stars we are home

in a galaxy of others like us

shedding our skins
