writing an oral language

it’s a struggle, i think
as if this struggle is real

i realize hearing is believing
believing words turned to stories archived

aural entertainment
past time
from last time our people spoke free

linguist de-cipher
ethnograph impossible possible syllables
audiograph nasal nuances, it’s in my dna
just press record sit back
soak in this oral stream

words cascade
down the line

words sing
down the line

words fumble
on my tongue
twisted in an aural break dance

slippery like butter
sticky like maple syrup

words bubble and pop
across the surface of this skin

words evaporate as download cedes
to this first world enigma
